Committees at WHOI

Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (CDEI)

The CDEI is charged with helping WHOI become more inclusive for everyone and to increase representation among marginalized communities. Helping to decrease barriers to LGBTQIA+ participation throughout WHOI’s departments and career tracks is part of our mission; in addition to working toward gender equity, racial equity, ability equity, and others. More information can be found on the CDEI website.

Workplace Climate Committee (WCC)

The WCC regularly assesses workplace climate at WHOI and provides leadership on the development and implementation of efforts to continuously improve the workplace climate.  The WCC is charged with repeating this approximately every 5 years in order to measure progress in workplace climate issues. Please see the WCC website for details and a list of WCC-related WHOI resources.

GLOW (LGBTQIA+ group in Woods Hole)

GLOW is here to create a more welcoming Woods Hole research community (WHOI, MBL, NMFS, SEA, USGS, and WHRC) for gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transsexuals and transgendered individuals as well as their partners and allies, and to provide resources to anyone who may need them. Please visit the GLOW website for more information and a list of community resources.
