A cooperative since 1943, it accepts children 2 years, 9 months old to pre-kindergarten. WHCC’s academic year program emphasizes socialization and imaginative play, both indoors and out. The theme-based curriculum reflects the interests of the children and includes daily art, music, science and language activities. WHCC offers flexible scheduling, a lunch program until 2 PM, local field trips and frequent guest visitors. The WHCC Summer Program (late June through early August) is an introduction to science for young children, ages 3-7. Children are grouped into either the younger or older class. In this program, children explore their natural environment through age appropriate science lessons, art activities, field trips and outdoor play. Each week there is a school-wide focus, as the children explore plants, ocean creatures, insects, pets, sand and water.
